Sizing & fit

How do I know which size to order?

Every product page lists the garment's own measurements — bust, waist, hip and length, in both centimetres and inches — rather than only a size letter. No two brands mean the same thing by "medium", so the numbers are the reliable guide.

The surest method: take a piece you already own and like the fit of, lay it flat, measure across the bust and waist, and match those numbers to the chart.

Do your pieces run true to size?

Yes, our pieces are cut true to size. Where a particular style runs small or large, we say so directly on the product page.

What if I'm between two sizes?

Size up if you're between — most of our pieces are easier to take in than to let out. If the difference is in one area only, custom fit is often the better answer.

How tall are your models, and what size are they wearing?

Model height and the size worn are listed on every product page, so you can judge how a length will fall on you. Our models are between 5'3" and 5'10" and wear sizes XS to XL.

What size range do you make?

XS to XXL as standard, and any measurements at all through custom fit.

Custom fit

Can you make a piece to my measurements?

Yes — any piece we make can be cut to your measurements instead of a standard size. It costs USD 50 on top of the price of the piece and takes about two weeks.

How custom fit works →

How do I order a custom piece?

Email isha.ishana.couture@gmail.com with the product name, your measurements, your name and your shipping address. We'll set up the order and send you an invoice. Once it's paid, your piece goes into production.

The measurement lists for dresses, tops and trousers are on the custom fit page.

How long does a custom piece take?

About two weeks from the day your invoice is paid, plus shipping. Between October and December it can run to three weeks — we'll tell you before you pay.

Can I return a custom piece?

No. A custom piece is cut for you and can't be resold, so we aren't able to accept returns or exchanges on it. We'd rather say that plainly than bury it.

We do read every set of measurements before anything is cut and will email you if something looks inconsistent, and we're happy to talk you through the measurements on a video call beforehand. If we've made an error against the numbers you sent, we'll put it right at our cost.

What if I measure myself wrong?

If something in your measurements looks inconsistent we'll email and ask rather than guess. If you're unsure, measure a garment you already love the fit of and send us both sets of numbers — or ask for a video call and we'll take you through it.

Can the embroidery or fabric be changed too?

Custom fit changes the fit, not the design. We can adjust bust, waist, hip, shoulder, sleeve and length. We can't move the embroidery, change the fabric or colour, or alter the silhouette — the embroidery is drawn for a particular shape.

Orders & shipping

How much is shipping?

Complimentary on orders over $199. Below that, it's calculated at checkout.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Orders are dispatched within 2 business days. Delivery takes 3–5 business days within the USA and 7–14 days internationally.

Custom pieces take about two weeks to make before they ship.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your destination.

Will I have to pay customs or duties?

Duties and taxes are shown at checkout for most destinations and included in what you pay. Where they aren't, they're charged by your local customs authority on delivery and are outside our control.

Can I track my order?

Yes — you'll get a tracking link by email as soon as your parcel is collected.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Write to us as soon as you can. If it hasn't been dispatched we can usually amend or cancel it. Custom pieces can be changed up until we cut, which is usually two or three days after your invoice is paid.

Once an order has shipped it becomes a return, so the 10-day window applies.

Is my piece in stock, or made to order?

Most pieces are in stock and ship straight away. Anything made to order says so on the product page, with its lead time.

Returns & exchanges

What is your returns policy?

You have 10 days from delivery to start a return. The piece needs to be unworn, unused and in its original condition, with all tags attached and the packaging intact.

Sale items, gift cards and custom orders can't be returned or exchanged.

How do I start a return?

Log in to your account and submit a return request. Once it's approved we'll confirm where to send it — we have return addresses in Chandler, Arizona and New Delhi, and we'll tell you which applies to your order.

Please start the request within the 10 days rather than simply posting the parcel back.

Who pays for return postage?

We do. Once your return request is approved we email you a prepaid shipping label — there's nothing for you to pay and nothing to arrange. Print it, tape it to the parcel, and drop it off.

If you'd rather use a carrier of your own choice, please use a tracked service. We aren't able to take responsibility for return parcels that go missing on the way to us.

How long does a refund take?

We inspect every return when it reaches us and email you the outcome. Approved refunds are processed within 10 to 14 days of the parcel arriving, back to your original payment method.

Refunds cover the price of the piece. The original shipping cost isn't included.

Can I exchange for a different size?

We don't process direct exchanges. Return the original piece, and once the return is approved, place a new order for the size you want.

If the size you need is running low, it's worth ordering it straight away rather than waiting for the return to complete — stock isn't held while a return is in transit.

What can't be returned?
  • Custom orders — cut to your measurements, so they can't be resold.
  • Sale items — final sale.
  • Gift cards.
  • Anything worn, washed, altered, or returned without its tags and packaging.
What if my order arrives damaged, or isn't what I ordered?

Email isha.ishana.couture@gmail.com straight away with your order number and a photograph of the problem.

That's our mistake, not yours — we'll replace it or refund you in full, and you won't pay return postage.

Care & embroidery

How should I wash a hand-embroidered piece?

Dry clean, or hand wash cold and lay flat to dry. Don't wring it, and don't soak it. A washing machine is the one thing hand embroidery genuinely doesn't survive — the drum catches the raised threads.

Care instructions specific to your piece are on its label and on the product page.

Can I machine wash it on a delicate cycle?

We'd rather you didn't. Even a gentle cycle pulls at raised threadwork, and the damage tends to be irreversible.

How should I store it?

Folded rather than hung, so the weight of the fabric doesn't pull at the stitching over time. Somewhere dry, out of direct sunlight.

Can I iron it?

Iron on the reverse, on a low setting, with a cloth between the iron and the fabric. Never press directly onto the embroidery — it flattens the thread relief that gives it its texture.

What if a thread comes loose?

Don't pull it. Ease it back through to the wrong side with a needle if you can, or secure it with a small stitch. A local tailor can do this in minutes.

Will the colours run?

No. Our threads and fabrics are colourfast, but wash deep colours separately the first time as a precaution.

Our craft

Is the embroidery really done by hand?

Yes — worked by one person from the first stitch, not machine-run and finished by hand. The cutting and sewing are done by machine; the embroidery is entirely hand-worked.

You can tell the difference up close: machine embroidery repeats perfectly, and ours varies slightly, because a person made it.

How long does one piece take?

Between 20 and 100 hours of hand embroidery, depending on the design. A machine does the same pattern in about forty minutes.

Where are your clothes made?

Seven people make our clothes, in New Delhi. We know their names and what each of them is best at.

What fabrics do you use?

Mostly natural and natural-blend fabrics — linen, cotton, viscose and silk blends. The exact composition is listed on every product page.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

All major cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes — Shop Pay Installments is available at checkout on eligible orders.

What currency will I be charged in?

Prices are shown in the currency you've selected at the top of the site, and that's what you'll be charged in. We currently support USD, GBP, EUR and INR.

Is it safe to pay on your site?

Yes. Payments are handled by Shopify's secure checkout — we never see or store your card details.
